The Skills Analysis Survey
The Skills Analysis Survey is an online module designed to help you assess your existing skills against the competencies outlined in the Cambridge Researcher Development Framework (CamRDF), and identify areas that need development. These skills are ones that are needed in your preparation to become a professional researcher and are highly valued by both academic and non-academic employers.
You can find out more about the Framework and how it can help you to plan your personal development on the Researcher Development Programme website before you undertake the Skills Analysis Survey.
We encourage students to take the survey about once a year.
Using the online Skills Analysis Course
The online course, hosted on Moodle, includes:
- An introduction to the CamRDF
- A Skills Analysis Survey to help you assess your skills against the CamRDF
- An opportunity to create a Personal Development Plan
- Links to appropriate training courses available within the University and the opportunity to book a one-to-one session with a Researcher Developer to discuss any further needs
Once you’re enrolled you can take the survey as many times as you wish throughout your course of study, and your answers will be saved each time for you to look back on at any point.
